Re:     New Dean of Students – Dorsie Glen

Dear College Friends,

I am delighted to announce that Dorsie Glen will be our new Dean of Students. She brings to this vital post a great love for Principia, for our students, for her colleagues, and for the task at hand.

Dorsie and John moved here from Tallahassee, Florida, and have also lived in Alabama, Arizona, California, and Massachusetts. When Dorsie started at Principia in 1989, her first post was Resident Counselor in Clara McNabb (where she stayed for 8 years). She has served as Residence Director for the past 11 years and has been the Resident Counselor on four Hawaii Field Programs. She has worked under five Deans of Students!

Both daughters, Megan (US 2000) and McGarrity (US 2002), graduated from Upper School. Megan graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Accounting.  McGarrity graduated from Principia College with a degree in theater. Both live and work in San Diego.

Dorsie and her family enjoy traveling. She spent five weeks last summer in Europe with Megan. She and John also love to spend time in San Diego and Maui. They enjoy walking their Weimaraner dog Ali'i, as you all have doubtless noticed!

Despite these many temptations, Dorsie’s love for Principia has called her to this vital work. We are deeply grateful to her and John.

I know that she's looking forward to more interaction with students and to working with the new teams in CEC and OSL.

Please join me in welcoming Dorsie!
