Administrative Assistant - Advancement Office |
Full-time, twelve-month position, beginning Summer 2008 |
Provides administrative support for the Director of Alumni and Field Relations and the Annual Development and Stewardship Manager including programs and projects within each office. Responsibilities include support for Principia Club Membership drives, Annual Fund solicitations and gift stewardship communication; administering office budgets; coordinating research and reports for all assigned programs and projects; and providing event support as needed. Minimum qualifications: Membership in the Mother Church and active branch church membership. Christian Science Class instruction preferred.
Supports Principia’s primary mission to serve the Cause of Christian Science. BA preferred; at least an Associates degree. Two years office/administrative experience preferred
Experience in client/customer relations preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Capable of interfacing with SCT/Banner software as a database and reporting tool. Work on the St. Louis campus with occasional meetings on the Elsah campus. Willingness to work irregular hours at times.

After-School Worker |
Nine-month, partial school-day position(3:10-5:30); beginning September 2008 |
Assist the After-School Program Director. Supervises students after school on the playground and in the After-School Care room. Monitors the afternoon playground. Works with Director and student helpers supervising the After-School playground or setting up and supervising indoor activities. Facilitates safety and helping students problem solve through inharmonious situations; disciplining when necessary. Works with the Director to establish consistent expectations and policies regarding the playground and other activities. Monitors the check-in desk when instructed to do so by the Director. Assists Director with record-keeping as needed. Coordinates the general upkeep and cleanliness of the facilities. Helps establish a comfortable and productive recreation/learning environment for students. Arrives at After-School Care room by 3:00 p.m. to set out snack and make any additional necessary preparations. May stay until all children are picked up--usually between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. Takes over Director's responsibilities if the Director needs to be absent. Minimum Qualifications: Membership in The Mother Church. Active branch church membership. Christian Science class instruction preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Classroom experience with elementary children. Alert, creative, flexible, responsible, clear thinking, efficient, and organized. Responsible for managing the daily operations, maintenance, and service of the St. Louis Facilities Department including HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical, Carpentry/Paint, Landscaping, Custodial, Fleet Vehicle maintenance, Rental Housing maintenance and office staff operations. Develops and manages department operating budget, deferred maintenance plan and assists with the development of the capital improvement plan. Responsible for the management of maintenance projects. Develops and directs service relationships and maintenance programs in coordination with campus departments and programs. Minimum requirements: Active Christian Science church membership. Christian Science class instruction preferred. Live within 5 minutes of campus. Carry pager, willing to be on call in order to coordinate emergency repairs after hours. Good communication skills and an ability to work in and lead a team environment.

Responsible for managing the maintenance of all school owned rental housing units including major and minor improvements, tenant changes, and various small projects for the facilities department outside of rental housing. Additional Duties: Rotates as “on call” director for non-work hour emergency response. In the absence of the Director and Associate Director assumes full responsibility for the management of the Facilities Department. Assists the Associate Director in leading emergency response teams for building, utility, snow, and other emergencies.
